Mekor Hod is a privately owned Israeli company, owned by 7 share holders (with equal shares). It is one of the leading companies in Israel in the field of breeding turkeys, with experience of over 40 years.
Mekor Hod owns breeding and rearing farms for Grand Parent Stock, Parent Stock and Commercial Turkeys.
The company owns a hatchery as well as breeding and meat farms.
The company produces approx. 5 million eggs and 3000 tons of live turkeys annually.
International Franchise
Mekor Hod is the sole Israeli representative of Hybrid (Canada), which is one of the only three companies in the world that deal with gene cultivating in turkeys.
Mekor Hod has a long term franchise from Hybrid since 1990.
Mekor Hod also has a franchise from Hybro (Netherlands) for fattening poults, and will be distributing Hybro PG+ Parent Stock starting 2008.
The genetic potential in the breeding material provided by the Canadian company Hybrid enables Mekor Hod to supply the perfect product for the meat market, one that is known for its high meat weight within a short time and with the industry’s best combination of feed conversion, durability and overall profitability.
Products
Mekor Hod markets two basic products using parallel production lines:
1. Parent Stock Turkey eggs and poults, marketed both domestically and for export.
2. Commercial Turkey eggs and poults marketed both domestically and for export, for rearing as meat for butcheries.

The company's activities are based upon its breeding egg production as well as marketing capabilities. For these purposes the company utilizes training and rearing farms, dark training and rearing farms, breeding farms for hatching eggs production, and poult producing hatcheries.
